Hal Turner offers to release Sean Hannity tapes for $100,000

Direct from the Hal Turner website, Hal has agreed to release all of his taped conversations, both on and off air, to the public for $100,000. He has also agreed to sell the tapes outright for $250,000. He reportedly wants the money by April 15, 2008.

Hal Turner is a known (and self-admitted) neo-nazi racist who used to frequently call into the Sean Hannity show. Sean and Hal supposedly became pretty good friends over that period of time and spoke a lot off air, where Hal Turner says that Sean agreed with many of his same views.

Since more than 100,000 of you read the story on Huffington Post about me being friendly with Hannity years ago, I made an offer on my radio show tonight:

I will release to the public, all the tape recordings I have between me and Sean Hannity both on and off the air IF, by April 15, 2008, those 100,000 readers of Huffington Post send me one dollar (or more) each until such time as I receive One-Hundred-Thousand Dollars ($100,000.) AND the deadline for the money arriving is April 15. If I receive the $100K by April 15, I will release via tape, CD and download from this site, all the "dicey" conversations we had. If I do not receive at least $100,000, by April 15, I will not release the tapes.

I will not speculate or make any representations about what is on those tapes, but suffice it to say I think there is material on them that you will find VERY useful!

In addition to the offer above, I am willing to SELL the tapes, complete ownership of their content and all broadcast rights forever to anyone willing to buy them for two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000).

If there is a conflit between the $100,000 coming and and the $250,000, I agree to REFUND the $100K less postage to whoever donates.

I am willing top post a LIST OF ALL DONATIONS citing only the amount, form of payment and postmark so all of you can see each day how much comes in. Complete transparency!

That's the offer. Those of you who hate Sean Hannity have a chance to pony-up. Those of you who want to conceal these tapes forever also have a chance to buy them.

WIth regard to the legality of the tapes, I live in New Jersey and under our law, it is LEGAL to record telephone conversations if one party to the call allows it. Since I was one party to each call, I authorized it and so the tapes are legal.

According to Turner, some of the audio on the tapes would certainly shine a bad light on Mr. Hannity, who continues to denounce Hal Turner as a friend. It has long been speculated that Sean Hannity is a racist, but does not in any way express those views on air, neither TV or his radio show.

So, the question now is....will enough people pony up the $100,000 by April 15th to have the tapes released? Will the news media buy the tapes? I can sure as hell only hope so.

I hope these tapes get out and prove once and for all that Sean Hannity is a complete liar and a political hack.

Why, because he has an opinion that differs from your own? That's intelligent...

no kai,

because he has a national radio and television show and should be outed as a hard racist if he is indeed one.

No Kai,

I respect his opinion and will always defend his right to express his own opinion.

but...

I want his opinion to be HIS, not one he has manufactured in order to keep a paycheck.

Well, just playing all sides here, if it has no influence or presence on his radio/television show, what does it matter? Don't get me wrong, I abhor racists, (and I don't believe he is one)... but if you open up the precedent that an opinion or choice someone holds privately is suddenly ammo to can their career even if it has nothing to do with it... that's unfair. Who's to say that someone shouldn't get the boot for being a closet homosexual... or supporting socialism... or supporting marxism... or having an unhealthy obsession with ceramic cats?

because he says certain things that take on an entirely different meaning of he is in fact a hard racist.

like his views on race and affirmative action now become based on racism rather than "best man for the job" mentality.

That sounds like a tax problem to me if I ever heard one.

Sean is conservative yes. Racist, no. You might not like his politics, bu to accuse him of being racist is just baseless.

What will you do if those tape prove otherwise if they are released?

I am not accusing Sean Hannity of anything, I am simply reporting what has been reported. I don't know if he is a racist or not, but I am sure those tapes will tell me. If he is not, great. But if he is, people need to know it.

It is no different that him spending the last 3 weeks accusing Barack Obama of being racist for his association with Rev. Wright.

If the tapes are released, suddenly, his opinions don't really matter anymore. I think that is why conservatives do not want this to be true... the guy is a great mouth piece for them and making him irrelevant will hurt the right.

I agree, Sean Hannity is an extremely important mouthpiece for the Conservative agenda, whether people admit or not.

If it were to come out that for the last 20 years he has been preaching a message that he himself doesn't follow, then all of his creditability is lost. I have no problem what so ever with Sean Hannity voicing an opinion, and I think he should continue to do so. But, I think it should be an honest opinion that comes from Sean, and based on how this story is unfolding, it may not be honest.

I work in Talk Radio and am very familiar with him and those who launched him to where he is (who are now helping us launch our program). Nothing I have seen or heard (not just on the radio) would indicate to me he is a racist.

If the tapes prove otherwise, I will have no problem admitting I am wrong - done it a thousand times before.

But I highly doubt I will have to.

        Sectim,

I hope you do well in your program... but do me a favor, if you are ever on Washington Journal debating with someone like Randi Rhodes and have no reasonable retort, don't Stick your fingers in your ears and yell "LaLaLaLa" like Marsha Blackburn.
