Unless you have been under a rock for the last several weeks, you are fully aware of the awesome momentum that Barack Obama has been able to muster up. Steadily winning primaries and caucuses all over the nation have clearly made him the front runner in the democratic nomination for president.
Now is the time for Hillary Clinton to bow out and do it with some class.
Obviously, the negative attacks against Obama are not going to cut it, and will likely strengthen his campaign as people unite behind him to defend him. Hillary knows that winning the nomination is all but impossible at this point, so why stay in? Is it to prove something? I get the feeling that she is going to go down in flames and I don't think that is such a good move. Doing that jeopardizes any remote chance of her being able to run again in future elections, as people will no doubt remember the tricks and tactics of this election. I think she is also working on booting herself out of any type of cabinet position should Obama win the presidency.
Hillary, for your own sake, and the sake of your supporters, please do us all a favor and graciously remove yourself from this campaign. There is clearly nothing to gain by continuing to show how tough you can be, all the while making yourself look desperate and foolish. I understand that your campaign had no idea that you would be up against a candidate like Obama, and it is alright, we all underestimate things sometimes. However, when that happens, we do what we can to make the situation better for everyone. We don't continue to beat a dead horse, or continue to rely on failed tactics to try to make it all better.
Hillary, I understand that you have invested loads of time and money into this campaign. I understand that you have put Bill out there to do the dirty work that you didn't feel right doing. I understand that you are a strong woman that will not take no for an answer, I get all of that. What I don't get is why you would continue to take your campaign down a path that leads to the guillotine. It seems pretty inevitable at this point that no matter what you do, the margins that you need to win by just are not going to happen. It was a great run, and you should be proud.
Now, please bow out while you still have that small little ounce of dignity left and do what is right for the party, the country, and the world. You will be much better off and we as American citizens will be both relieved and ecstatic for the gracious compliment you will have paid us by doing so.
